VoxFrame 1.2.0

Secure updates for VoxFrame

The licensed desktop app checks the stable release channel and downloads approved updates through the secure API route.

Released 4 September 2026

VoxFrame 1.2.0

Improvements

  • The full VoxFrame player now has one independent Pro interface, executable and shortcut. The compact player continues as a separate product with its own project and release path.
  • Online video settings now show only the practical choices for the download folder, what opens after a download, subtitle sources and languages, and automatic download-support updates; technical choices are handled safely in the background.
  • Verified yt-dlp 2026.08.19 and Deno 2.9.5 download support is included, so a clean installation can download videos immediately. Existing verified managed updates remain available and the included tools remain a safe fallback.
  • Player and Cloud purchases now open the official VoxFrame website. The desktop player no longer contains a checkout; the website presents Player License, Cloud Plus and Cloud Pro in the same clear card layout as the separate Simple purchase page.
  • The player and online account now show three separate Cloud balances: OpenSubtitles credits, transcription minutes and translation minutes. Cloud-based Player Pro lasts only for the active Cloud period; a separately purchased permanent Player License never expires with Cloud.
  • The single online account page now clearly accepts both Pro and Simple licences. Simple customers can securely view their plan, remaining subtitle-file translations, live-subtitle minutes and devices without using an extra device slot.

Bug fixes

  • The settings page no longer exposes technical format, playlist, network, component and expert controls; existing hidden technical values are reset to safe recommended defaults while the seven visible user choices are preserved.
  • The selected source language is now preserved across fast local transcription, the local fallback engine and Cloud transcription instead of later routes reverting to automatic detection.
  • The subtitle assistant now checks OpenSubtitles in the requested language and every usable subtitle already available with the video before starting speech recognition: matching embedded, external or sidecar text, English or another text subtitle for translation, and an existing generated transcript. Only sidecars belonging to the same video are considered.
  • Complete Purfview/Faster-Whisper transcription models are reused without a network request. Missing or interrupted model files are resumed or repaired, and temporary downloads are removed after failure or cancellation.
  • During playback the player controls hide after inactivity, return on pointer movement or a click, and remain visible when playback is paused or stopped.
  • Large and clear controls no longer force extra-large subtitles. Normal, large and extra-large subtitle size now remain independently selectable and are applied to the active video.
  • The Player purchase button on the public website now opens the official online Player and Cloud checkout instead of the download-only page. The download page also shows direct choices for Player License, Cloud Plus and Cloud Pro.
  • Account actions are now consistently aligned. Manage payments opens the secure Stripe customer portal for both Pro and Simple, the signed-in licence key is shown without browser storage, and a new-purchase key is never silently substituted.
  • The public Simple pages now have localized search metadata, sitemap entries and a dedicated Simple sharing image; private account and admin pages remain excluded from search.

VoxFrame 1.1.0

Improvements

  • An optional Simple Player provides compact, colour-coded actions for opening a video, opening live TV or IPTV and continuing the most recent local video from its saved playback position. Continue watching never selects IPTV, and the familiar Advanced Player remains the default.
  • The familiar compact Advanced Player remains intact, including direct stop, skip, speed and Cast controls, with a small visible switch to the Simple Player and subtle colour accents for clarity.
  • Subtitles use a clear three-step route, settings are grouped into understandable sections with compact, uniform technical disclosures, and the optional Large and clear profile enlarges controls, focus borders and subtitles.
  • Online video import saves media from yt-dlp-supported sources as a local file that can be opened directly in VoxFrame, with options for formats, playlists, channels, live streams, subtitles, metadata, network access and expert workflows.
  • The Simple Player now includes a compact downloader: paste a link, choose Video or MP3, select Best, 720p, 1080p or up to 4K for video, manage a batch queue with thumbnails and filters, and open the downloaded file or folder. Online downloads require a paid Player licence.
  • The base player stays lightweight: verified yt-dlp and Deno components are installed only on demand, thumbnails stay in memory without a persistent cache, access details remain per job, a clear responsibility confirmation is required and owned temporary work is cleaned up after cancellation or exit.
  • The product website, help, manual, FAQ, download, support, updates and account pages now share one clear VoxFrame visual style.

Bug fixes

  • Switching between Simple Player and Advanced Player keeps the current video, playback position and subtitles active.
  • Automatic subtitle search now preserves the OpenSubtitles movie year, prevents AI or Cloud from promoting candidates with incomplete title and year identity, and rejects clearly incomplete downloaded timelines before loading them.
  • When no suitable subtitle exists and speech recognition creates a transcript, VoxFrame keeps the source transcript as a CC track and, when needed, automatically translates it to the selected language. Source and translation return without duplicate tracks after reopening, and a missing translation safely falls back to the generated source.
  • During IPTV playback, Live subtitles are again directly available from the CC panel in both Simple Player and Advanced Player. Local videos keep Find matching subtitles. Text-based embedded tracks remain available; image-based DVB and PGS tracks stay out of the CC choices and no longer block a generated text fallback.
  • LAN Watch and Chromecast now normalize confirmed H.264 MP4 stream-copy correctly for MPEG-TS, preventing black video. Incompatible, unknown or progressive remote ISO-BMFF media use the existing compatibility transcode and resume from the matching timeline position.

VoxFrame 1.0.4

Improvements

  • A shared history under File remembers up to five recently opened local videos and IPTV channels and can be cleared by the user.
  • Subtitle appearance controls now include persistent SRT styling and an IPTV choice between a dark background and a transparent background with a dark outline.
  • Menus, dialogs and notifications have broader English, Dutch, German and French coverage.
  • PGS subtitle tracks are detected safely and explained in the selected interface language.
  • The updater performs stronger validation of approved installers and gives clearer progress and result messages.

Bug fixes

  • LAN Watch keeps subtitles inside the visible area in fullscreen and supports Fit, Fill and 16:9 frame modes.
  • Stopping LAN Watch, closing its browser tab or closing the QR prompt now stops the remote session and returns playback to the PC player promptly.
  • Chromecast IPTV playback now starts with a forty-second reserve, recovers from prolonged buffering and retains future live subtitle chunks. The Cast handoff notice stays visible only while Cast is active, and stopping Cast correctly reopens the buffered PC player at the matching position.
  • Buffered IPTV playback now stays active during temporary provider interruptions with a localized outage card, keeps reconnecting and resumes media and live subtitles on the same timeline.
  • LAN IPTV playback now uses bounded buffers and a browser-compatible H.264/AAC path for H.264 and MPEG-2 sources.
  • The compact demo label no longer covers the Settings close button, and clicking empty player space no longer opens the file picker.
  • Missing recent local files and temporarily unreachable IPTV channels now produce a clear message in the selected interface language.

VoxFrame 1.0.3

Improvements

  • The permanent Player licence and the separate Cloud entitlement are presented more clearly.
  • Cloud token and credit status is easier to understand.
  • The signed Windows installer is available directly from the official download page without an account.

Bug fixes

  • Player and Cloud entitlements are processed independently, so Cloud expiry does not remove a permanent Player licence.
  • The in-app updater and the official public download now select the exact same approved, signed installer.

Release metadata includes version, file size and SHA-256 so the app can verify every update.
